Vera Project
Beloved all-ages nonprofit music and arts venue at Seattle Center, serving as a community hub for youth-driven engagement in music, art, screen printing, recording, and experiential learning.
Historic note: Founded in 2001 by James Keblas, Shannon Stewart, and Kate Becker as a response to Seattle's controversial Teen Dance Ordinance. The first event on January 27, 2001 at IBEW Local 46 featured The Murder City Devils, Botch, and The Blood Brothers, with nearly 1,000 attendees. Now located at Seattle Center, Vera has grown from a safe music space into a vital community center providing workforce development, experiential learning, and volunteer opportunities. Celebrated its 25th anniversary (VERA at 25) and presents approximately two shows per week alongside art exhibits, classes, and programming.
