Marion Oliver McCaw Hall is the Pacific Northwest's premier opera house and ballet venue, serving as the elegant home of Seattle Opera and Pacific Northwest Ballet since 2003. With a capacity of 2,963, this architectural landmark underwent a dramatic $90 million transformation from its origins as the 1928 Civic Auditorium, funded by a generous donation from the McCaw family. The renovation by LMN Architects created a gleaming glass curtain wall structure that preserved the venue's historic character while providing world-class acoustics and sightlines. Located at Seattle Center, McCaw Hall represents over 95 years of Seattle's performing arts heritage, having hosted the Seattle Symphony before Benaroya Hall opened, and continues to present internationally acclaimed productions that cement Seattle's reputation as a major cultural destination.

Historic note: Originally opened in 1928 as the Seattle Civic Auditorium, later becoming the Seattle Opera House. Underwent a $127 million renovation (LMN Architects) reopening June 28, 2003 as Marion Oliver McCaw Hall, named for the mother of cell phone pioneer Craig McCaw, whose family donated $20 million. The project secured $55 million in public funds and over $72 million in private philanthropic gifts.
