Fremont Foundry

Event spaces weddingtouring bandcorporatedj

Former metal foundry and artist commune in Fremont. Three floors including a sky-lit atrium with 20-foot ceilings, outdoor courtyard, and rooftop terrace with North Seattle views. Features a floating glass dancefloor. The space where the Jimi Hendrix statue was created. Operated by Landmark Event Co.

Historic note: Custom built by local artist Peter Bevis in 1981 as a working metal foundry and artist commune with 11 residences alongside welding tanks and uncut granite. Some of Seattle's most iconic public art was created here, including the Jimi Hendrix statue (sculpted by Daryl Smith in 1997) and the reassembly of the Fremont Lenin statue (shipped from Slovakia in three pieces in 1995). Bevis sold the property in 2012 for $2.1M to Dhruv Agarwal, who renovated it as an event venue under Landmark Event Co., whose mission is saving historic buildings from demolition by converting them to event spaces.
